What does it mean when my new roof has a lifetime limited warranty?

What does it mean when my roof has a lifetime limited warranty? Well, for AMP Restoration &

Roofing it means that there is a warranty on the materials and labor itself when a roofing contractor

puts on a new roof on your home. So, for however many number of years that the warranty covers, if

the roof leaks due to improper installation of materials or defects in the materials used themselves,

then the roofing contractor replaces the whole roof completely for free. Not a single penny comes out of your pocket!

A Lifetime Limited Warranty does not cover hail, wind, or water damage directly caused by a

storm, that is what your insurance company is for.

A lifetime limited warranty does not mean that it lasts for however long you live or for as long as you

live in the home; hence the word limited. How long a warranty is legally in effect is predetermined by

the roofing company that installs the roof, or the company that manufactures the shingles or materials

that are installed. These warranties go into effect the moment your roofing job is completed.

These warranties can be in effect anywhere from 1 year to even 50 years; if you get a 50 year warranty does

this mean that the roof will last for 50 years?

No, a warranty does not guarantee a roof will last for however many years the warranty is in effect.
